Mimi Barbour

Author, Mimi Barbour, has five romance series at this time. The Vicarage Bench, a Spirit-travel, Time-travel Series / Angels with Attitude Series – Angels Love Romance / The Vegas Series—fast-paced, thrilling and loved by readers / Elvis Series—make an Elvis Song a book, and her latest suspense series with gritty characters, constant conflicts and emotional highs and lows sharing humor on every page, The Undercover FBI series.

“Mimi says - I’ve taken early retirement on Vancouver Island to spend my days and many nights, hovering over my computer and spinning the stories that have been vying for my attention over the years.

My husband is supportive, drags me out to feed me and plans occasional forays into the outside world. I have a son who makes me happy I was born a woman so I could be his mom, and a niece whose family adds to my full cup of happiness.

My favorite top 5 women of mystery, murder and mayhem.

It’s a very difficult choice so I've decided to stick with my favorite authors who write suspense, thrillers and mystery. I would have to say that the one I love the most is Sandra Brown. She’s gritty, real and has the talent of a fabulous story-teller. My favorite book by Sandra Brown is called Mirror Image. Loved the whole concept.

Now being that I tend to add humor in my own books, Nora Roberts can spin a really good suspense and make me crack up at the same time. Her characters are so well done and her storylines always grab me and reel me in. My favorite suspense book by Nora Roberts would have to be Blue Smoke. Couldn't put it down.

Another famous author that gets a laugh out of me is Linda Howard. Her southern ways add richness to her stories and I love her voice. I met her at an RWA conference one year and she’s as humorous as her books. Linda Howard caught me with Open Season.

Of course, there’s Lisa Jackson who always delivers your money’s worth and more. Many times she keeps me wondering until the end. I like that. I recently read Lisa’s book called Left to Die. Oh yeah! It was good!!

And last but not least is Rebecca York. Her romantic suspense books are a wonderful read. She’s the ultimate storyteller with over a hundred books to her credit. Her Rockfort Security Series is fabulous!!

Special Agent Francesca

by Mimi Barbour

An introvert, Special Agent Francesca moves to Las Vegas to escape her powerful, domineering mother. On arrival, multiple obstacles challenge her. She needs to approach a father she’s never met, a man who doesn't even know she exists. Then she must play the role of a loving fiancée with a stranger. One who makes her question every unexpected emotion he provokes. Craving the chance for real undercover work, she grabs the opportunity to be involved in cleaning up gang corruption in a nasty neighborhood. When she poses as the new owner of a hotel, the deadly-dangerous situation ramps up and she’s forced to fight her way from one conflict to the next.

Sean Collins, Psychiatrist and LVPD Profiler, has never known anyone like Francesca Donovan. From first sight, he believes her to be a screwball but her beauty and maddening personality attracts him. Despite her prickly disposition, which gets them into a load of trouble, her rotten driving skills and her constant battles, he’s hooked. Once he’s roped into a mock engagement with her, his desire to make it real takes precedence over everything else in his world.

L.A. Lewandowski

What happens when a Jersey girl falls in love with the Florida sunshine? Lois's life changed when she made sultry Tampa her home. It might have been the subtropical heat that forced the stories out of her head and into the books she writes. The southern migration has allowed her to pursue her passions; cooking for family and friends, growing orchids, and learning tennis. Her food blog, the Culture and Cuisine Club, continues to push the envelope of dinner club creativity. She's obsessed with art in all forms, and her interests are the entrées that fill her books with a fillip of sexy seasoning to spice things up.
